Micronutrients & co. – support for the body’s defences
To enable the immune system to work effectively, its “defence corps” must be well equipped at all times – primarily with micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals and trace elements. In particular, it is hugely important that the defences receive a sufficient supply of micronutrients from our daily diet as they support all necessary functions of the immune system. For example, they support the regular formation of defence cells and substances.
Nutrition + exercise + relaxation: a good combination
A balanced diet is crucial for the health and well-being of our children. However, giving the body what it needs from a general health perspective also includes exercise and relaxation. As with the immune defence system, the body’s other functions also benefit from a good supply of micronutrients, regular training and phases of rest for regeneration.

Micronutrients are absolutely indispensable to many vital functions in our bodies. Apart from a few exceptions, we humans are unable to produce vitamins, minerals and trace elements ourselves. This is why they are labelled “essential” – which means that we need to intake a sufficient quantity through food. Our bodies require micronutrients not just when our bones, muscles and organs are growing, we need them every day throughout our lives. They are essential for our metabolism – e.g. for our energy levels and the nervous system. And naturally for the immune system as well, where vitamins, minerals and trace elements support the continual development and degradation and also the protection of the defence cells.
Vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, copper, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin B2 and vitamin B12 contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Calcium and vitamin D are needed for normal growth and development of bone in children. Iodine also contributes to growth during childhood. Iron contributes to normal cognitive development of children.
